In 1982, the story of LifeHammer began in Germany when Helmut Lechner got trapped in his car after an accident. He was hanging upside down in his car seat so he could not disconnect his seatbelt or open his car door or window. Luckily, emergency services rescued him in time. Shortly after this experience, he decided to create a tool that would help people escape from their car if they were in this situation. He invented the first safety hammer in the world and called it the LifeHammer. LifeHammer has since grown to develop several high-quality car safety products.
