In 1973, Barry Dawson built his first knife shop inside a barn. He built most of his machinery himself from parts he got at the local landfill. More than 40 years later, Dawson Knives has grown to encompass three generations of knifemakers, working out of their shop in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Each knife and sword is designed and handcrafted in the USA. Every step of the knife making process is handled by the Dawsons themselves, ensuring the best custom knives and swords available. Swords have long metal blades used for thrusting or striking. These days, they are more often found as a wall decoration, as a collectors item, or worn as part of a reenactment ceremony.
