MR393S Marbles 14 Inch Machete Sheath with Sharpener

The material I mean the nylong is awesome and the little pockets (which dont come with as far as I know from limited knowledge from any machete manufacturer) are realy helpful when you are into a trek or bushcraft. YOu can easily drop in lot of small items for easy access while you are there in the trek with the machete somewhere around easy reach like on your belt loop or on the molle backpack. However I was bit disturbed with the design. One one side half length of the sheath is actually open and may be because the manufacturer wanted the advantage of expansion (with 2 velcro loops supporting in adjusting a wider or thicker blade). However with my machete I found that putting in and getting the machete out the blade remains exposed and you could seriously cut your hand if you are holding the sheath for balance/ safety while you are drawing the machete out. Also you could cut through the velcro straps themselves if you are not careful. I purchased it for my Gerber Golik which as an angle at the grip where the grip meets the blade. But only a little of the blade is exposed and this shoudnt be a problem as I tested it out at home. However the half open side on one side and the velcro strap design seems a bit awkward to me since I carry a machete rarely and if I am little careless to get the machete out while its on my side in the belt, I could seriously inure either the sheath straps or myself. An elastic side stitch all along on both sides may increase the price a little but will be a safer strategy to ensure that a general sheath is able to accommodate majority of common think or thick blade or wide blade machete of 14 inch blade length. Otherwise the quality of nylon is tough and design with multiple pockets is awesome. Great product. It is a high quality sheath. Easy to use and great so you can easily carry a machete.
