KA1248 Ka-Bar Machete Cutlass

I am amazed at how robust the steel and edge are on this chopper. I use it constantly to hack brush up to 1.5-2” diameter with one, maybe two PROPER strikes. Choppers aren’t meant to be razor sharp, but this one can take and keep a razor edge. Of course, I experience a few bends in the edge when I hit stones/rocks; but that’s because I like to over-sharpen mine. Bends are easily set straight with a steel chef’s honing rod—it does not take off any steel. If I kept it properly sharpened for a WORKING chopper (not razor sharp), bends would be rare. Sheath is good enough to use for working; it’s a dangler and swings naturally with my movements. Learn proper lanyard use for working with a chopper! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I purchased two!
