The Hen & Rooster brand was established in 1845 by Carl Bertram. He was a well known owner of a poultry business in Solingen, Germany where he began to manufacture his own line of cutlery. It was because of his association to poultry that the logo of a hen and rooster became his brand. Hen & Rooster is what many people consider "World's Finest Cutlery Since 1845." In 1983, The Hen & Rooster trademark was acquired by James Frost of Frost Cutlery. Frost Cutlery has continued the Hen & Rooster reputation of excellence.
