Gil Hibben throwing knife sets for sale.
Gil Hibben began making knives part-time in 1956. He sold his first bowie knife for $45 and that sparked his famous career as a professional knife maker. In 1968, Gil designed all of Browning's original line of knives. Gil's fame dramatically increased in 1988 when Sylvester Stallone asked Gil to design the knife used in Rambo III. The factory reproduction of that knife has been one of the biggest selling productions knives, selling over 250,000 copies. This was just one of over 30 movies and TV shows that have featured Gil's designs. In the 1990's, Gil began expressing more of his artistic side and making more elaborate fantasy style knives. Gil Hibben continues to create custom knives in LaGrange, Kentucky.
A throwing knife is a knife that is designed and weighted to be thrown effectively. Throwing knives are often constructed with a single piece of metal in which one end, the blade, is sharpened, and the other end, the handle, is not. This allows for a proper balance of weight for optimum knife throwing technique.
