This is a great buy. Though I am lusting for an authentic reproduction of the famed LeMat, I already have 4 Civil War era black powder percussion revolvers, and didn't really want to purchase a $1000 Pietta-made reproduction to compete with the others for shooting time. Also, I didn't care for the black gloss of the Pietta and wanted something antique-ish. This Denix replica is perfect. It cost less than $70, looks and feels real, and is safe to mess around with, wave it around, leave it lying on the kitchen table, or hang it on a board in the man-cave. It's solid and well-made. The pewter makes it look like an antiqued, well-worn silver. The weight is pretty close to the real thing and the feel and handling seems authentic. The hammer and trigger works, as does the cylinder and the loading lever. It does not, however, dissasemble. My only disappointment, and this is a small one, is that it doesn't have the Calvary "spur" on the trigger guard. Someday, I might get around to purchasing a firing LeMat reproduction, but for now this just fits the bill. Best 65 bucks I've ever spent.

Very weighty and a solid replica, however my 2 star rating is because on maybe 2nd use, the thing was so heavy and poorly put together, the front half and back half fell apart from one another and the thing fell completely apart. Had to put the revolver back on and then slide the front piece back onto the back piece. Can't really enjoy it anymore as it falls apart once picked up.
